Ötscher Trail

The Ötscher Trails through the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park have been an integral part of the Austrian mountain marathon scene since 2004. Together with the then Mountain Run (Skyrace 2024), the Marathon Trail formed the Ötscher Ultramarathon.

From 2024, the Ötscher Trails will now be organized with the active support of the former organizer Herbert Egger, as well as B-TRAIL.Events (Hochkönigman, Kaiserkrone Trail, KAT100 by UTMB).

The vertical race to the Ötscher summit is just one of the additional route offerings that defines the newly organized event. The basic idea of ​​the traditional Utramarathon classification is retained or expanded with the "HERO" classification (Vertical + Marathon Trail + Skyrace) and "KING/QUEEN" classification (Vertical + Speed ​​Trail + Skyrace). The routes run with the Marathon Trail through the Ötschergräben (Grand Canyon of Austria), and overcome the Rauer Kamm and the Ötscher summit with easy rock climbing in the Skyrace (NEW 2024). On the Speed ​​Trail (NEW 2024), the summit victory takes place on the Kleiner Ötscher. The Easy Trail (NEW 2024) leads over beautiful single trails to the finish in Lackenhof.

The Ötscher Skyrace is the 2024 final of the Skyrunner Austria Series with SAS prize money of €3,000. The Ötscher Vertical Race is not only the final of the Vertikal Austria Series, but also the Austrian Vertical Championship, 2024. We are also pleased to be able to contribute to the Austrian Trail Running Cup and Fun Running Cup with the Ötscher Trail in 2024.
