Skyrace

The Ötscher Skyrace ( part of the HERO & KING/QUEEN classification ) is a demanding, sometimes very technical competition with smaller passages in the 2nd climbing grade.

From the Ötscher Trail Arena, the Skyrace turns left after about 300m of asphalt up forest roads and single trails to the Steingrabenkreuz, before heading down to Raneck and on to the first refreshment point near the Bärenlacke. From here, steep switchbacks through the forest with smaller climbing passages of the 2nd climbing level over the Rauen Kamm await, before the second refreshment point at the Ötscherschutzhaus is passed after the first summit victory on the Großer Ötscher. The ski slope to Weitental is ironed out in a very steep downhill. Now the next steep climb over ski slopes to the Riffelsattel awaits. The last tough climb to the Kleiner Ötscher gets the Skyrace heart racing, before running into the Ötscher Trail Arena on the last downhill over 700m.

The Ötscher Skyrace is part of the Ötscher Trail Hero & KING/QUEEN ranking , FINALE of the Skyrunner Austria Series and the Austrian Trailrunning Cup 2024 .
